This past weekend I finally was able to watch the movie "300" ( I was alone in the house and finally had control of the remote). I had heard about this movie and I love to watch movies based on historical people and events. While this movie was stretched some for Hollywood appeal, the story is based on a true story and worth studying.
In the movie "300" you have a group of 300 men (these in my opinion are REAL men) who forego what their corrupt government has told them (they were mislead by politicians who were on the take by the Persians) to go and make a stand on a narrow passageway to stop King Xerxes of Persia from marching on their city of Sparta. 300 against 100,000. Not good odds by any means but for them the odds were good enough. Trained to fight as a unit and to protect each other they formed a impenetrable wall against all that the Persians could through at them. They relished the thought of dying for their city and for each other for to them "honor" was more important than "life".
We need to find inspiration in this movie as we fight against enemies that are well funded (George Soros, SEIU, Stimulus money, ACORN) and well armed (NBC,ABC,CBS,CNBC,MSNBC,CNN, NY Times, etc..). We need to draw a line in the sand and say "This far you shall come and no further". We need to stand shoulder to shoulder and with each other no matter what your political background. Republican, Democrat, Indepedent, Libertarian, it doesn't matter. All who love this country and stand for the Constitution and its principles that it founded are welcome. We may disagree on other minor issues such as Abortion, Gay Rights, or the role of the US military in the world. But we can agree
- That our government is using us and that corruption has so infected our government that we cannot trust them to "do the right thing" anymore. We agree that our leaders answer to lobbyists and speical-interest-groups that stuff 100 dollar bills down their pants on a regular basis rather than to us.
- That taking away anyones "freedom speech" is taking away all of our freedoms of speech. If you limit speech by "diversity rules" or by vague and ill-defined "hate speech laws" you eventually put an end to our freedom to speak our minds and hearts.
- That government should not being playing favorites with corporations and big business. That no business is "too big to fail".
- That the rule of law should always prevail (ie the Constitution). That government to their to enforce contracts and not there to bypass them when they are inconvenient (what they did in the Chrysler bankruptcy was criminal and hurt thousands of retired pension holders who where "secured bond holder")
Washington DC may (and already has) thumbed their noses at us and told us that we are "not significant" and "not in the mainstream" to hopefully destroy our will, but we cannot turn back. We must not let them discourage us. We must press on. We may need to make sacrifices like:
- Spend less on Christmas gifts (or tell your family members to make contributions in your name) this year in lew of giving money to help the 912 program, a Tea Party or a Politician you think will strive to fight this corruption (especially if they have NEVER held a political office in their life). I don't recommend giving money to the GOP as I feel they will not spend it wisely and are only part of the problem.
- Use some of your vacation time to attend a protest or help with a campaign.
- Boycott WalMart, GE, GM or other companies that are sidnig with Big Government and writing them to tell them you are
- Giving up some cable channels such as HBO that promotes Bill Maher (we should be requesting our cable stations to supply us with a conservative channel listing that would take out MS-NBC,CNBC,CNN,HBO so we can know that our hard earned money is not going to fund stations we do not agress with
- Writing to your representatives and going to town hall meetings to express yourselves
- Talk straight, honestly and nicely with your neighbors about what is going on. Get them involved!
- Run for office yourself! Maybe you can be the first "YouTube-only candidate"

My son loves this movie and will see it at any chance he gets and the
same can be said for many of his friends. They see what being a real
man is in this movie and they desire that for themselves as well. They
know that schools have tried to "feminize" them and downplay their male
roles in our country and have taught that sacrifice for country is
"stupid thing do". They know that to fight for honor is never
"stupid".
