Nader is right

Well like they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day.  In this case I will have to somewhat agree with Ralf Nader who recently posted a blog calling the president "a frightened man".  His assessment is that Obama is the kind of person who likes to be liked.  At his core values is his own like-ability and therefore tries to appease everyone, but in the end helps no one.

Lincoln was not liked by everyone (especially in the south).  But in the end he knew that he had to do what was right and free the slaves.  Reagan was not well liked by members of the house and even some in his own party but he in the end made decisions based on his own convictions and beliefs and he defeater the Soviet Union.

Today, Obama has been agonizing ( hard to say that word when you see him salsa-dancing up on stage ) over what to do with Afghanistan and whether to listen to his generals who want 40,000+ more troops or his democratic counterparts in Congress that want us to cut and run.  This is not the time to be running a popularity contest Mr President !!   There is no middle ground.  You promised during your campaign that Afghanistan was more important to our national security than Iraq.  Did you mean that?  You said you would pull out our troops from Iraq and send them to Afghanistan.  Have you done that?  NO!   Yes Mr. President its easier to play "Sunday-Morning-Arm-Chair-Commander-In-Chief" than to actually BE Commander-In-Chief.   Now its YOUR war Mr. President.

Do you want:

   A) The U.S. to look STRONG and you to be a man of your word?      Then SEND THE TROOPS!
   B) The U.S. to look WEAK and you to be just another politcian?         Then BRING THEM ALL HOME NOW!

Leaving them there without giving them the tools to win is a DEATH SENTENCE.   Mark my word, there will be another "Black-Hawk Down" situation again and YOU will have to answer to the families of those soldiers WHY YOU DID NOTHING!

Why I hate LITE-Beer

I and my brother-in-laws have different opinions about beer.  Their favorite beer is Bud Light and mine is Sam Adams (interesting thing is that they live in New England and I live in California).   They both like it for the same reasons:

1) It has NO taste
2) They can drink almost as much as they want without getting buzzed
3) Its cheap!

I am more of a casual beer drinker. I may have 1 or 2 on a weekend, but not more than that.   For me, if I am going to enjoy a beer, I want know I am having a beer (otherwise just drink a glass of water.... its a whole lot cheaper).   To me cost does not matter as much (although I do buy it on sale so save money) as a 12 pack can probably last me over 1 to 2 months.

Today we seem to only have 2 choices in politicians,  Democrats and Democrat-LITE (Republican).   We have been sold the idea that the only way to get things done in Washington is to "reach across the aisle" (as John McCain would have it).  But what we have today is not just "reaching across the aisle" but instead "skipping across the aisle and putting down roots".    I often joke to my wife that Senators like John McCain have spent so much time across the aisle, they have been given honorary seats on the left with gold plated name plates.

These  Republicrats (kudos to Michael Savage for the name),  are no more Republican than I am a communist sympathizer.   They think that by voting on "key issues" like abortion or school-prayer that they can maintain their connection to the party.   They, like LITE-beer, are tasteless, cheap and useless.   They believe we are too stupid to see that their is no difference between them and democrats.  Oh yes, they may seem less dangerous to our future.  They are just taking the scenic-route to HELL instead of the freeway.

Give me a Republican that:

  - STANDS FOR THE CONSTITUTION
  - STANDS FOR INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY
  - STANDS FOR THE FREEDOM OF THE INDIVIDUAL

or give a me beer that will make me forget any of this matters

SNOWE-job

With Republicans like Senator Snowe, who needs Democrats?   Is there nothing this so-called Republican will NOT side with Democrats on?   She is quickly becoming the Achilles-heel of the conservative-base and will be wined-and-dined by all the left to get her vote over the next 3 years.   I look for Maine to get:

 - Its own NFL team complete with a covered dome stadium
 - 3 new airports with state of the art baggage handling and security
 - A new State House, Governors Mansion and Senatorial Office Building
 - Re-zoning of state lines and get half of New Hampshire and parts of Massachusetts
 - Free Congressional Health-care for all of its (10,000) residents.
 - All the plaid shirts and winter gloves their state needs for the next 20 years free of charge

What more can you ask for?

In my opinion, Sen. Snowe should be sent a message by the Republicans that WHEN (not IF) they regain power in 2010, that her job will be in SERIOUS JEOPARDY if she sides one more time with the other side.

How to stop "Speical Interest" in Washington

Today, giving money to political candidates or parties really amounts to nothing more than smart investing by large corporations or organizations.  Give a little, get a LOT.

Take for example, SEIU.  This labor union brags that they gave 60 million to help elect Obama to the presidency.  But that will amount to chump change over the next 4 years.  Take for example the recent job of "helping" with the 2010 Census or the HR3200 health-care bill where they stand to to make several billion dollars in funding from congress.  One can also look at the contributions made by GE during the last election.  Spend a few million, rake in several billion in "energy or healthcare technology purchases".

Not that this is a new thing.  It has been around for years (maybe even since the Civil War).  The problem is that it is getting worse exponentially. Thousands becomes millions.  Millions becomes Billions, Billions becomes Trillions...

So how do we stop this?

I propose the following:  A law that states

No company, corporation, individual or union may obtain any government contracts or funding for 3 years if that company, corporation, individual or union has paid more than $1000 to any political party or candidate directly or indirectly (through groups like MoveOn etc.)

This would stop dead in their tracts all speical-interest and manipulators who treat our government as one giant vending machine where you plunk in your money and out comes your candy.

Just what an Ego-maniac-in-Chief needs....

A Nobel Peace Prize to put on their mantel.

In keeping with the dumb-ing down of our world, now even the Nobel organization is now giving out prizes not based on what a person HAS done, but instead based on the HOPE of what they MIGHT do.  Was this given as a consolation prize for not having received the 2024 Olympics in Chicago?   Or should this award be re-named the Nobel Socialist Prize as Obama has done more in 8 months to drive our country to Socialism than towards "world peace".

I think this award is just one more in a long line of "awards" Obama has received over his lifetime with out truly earning them.  I think the man has gone through most of his life being patted on the back for achievements that most people would receive no adulation for just because of the color of his skin.  That is what we have done in our country.  Instead of following the lead of Marin Luther King and judging people by the content of the character, we have judged people by the color of their skin and have different standards for different people.

Just what HAS Obama done as President?

 Closed Gitmo?
NO
 Out of Iraq?
NO
 Improved Afganistan?
NO
 Disarmed Iran from obtaining nukes?
NO
 Solved Middle-East Conflict?
NO
 Fixed Health-care?
NO
 Brought down unemployment
NO

So what has Obama done so far?
Became an Illinois State representative by enlisting the help of people like Rev Wright
Became a Senator by defeating a weak encumbent embroiled in controversy
Did nothing as a Senator except write 2 books (about himself) and plan his run for President
Run against a weak (and out of step) opponent and had the help of: ALL news agencies (except one), Hollywood, Universities, Oprah

That deserves a Nobel Peace Prize?   By doing this the Nobel organization has destroyed the meaning of the prize and ruined it for future recipients.  Also by giving it to our illustrious President they have only encouraged this ego-maniac to become further entrenched into his own belief that he is "loved by the world over" and that his smile, charisma and charm can "bring the change needed to the world".

God help us!

Need to investigate TIDES Foundation as well

Now with ACORN being exposed for the corrupt organization they are, we also now need to put pressure on our politicians to investigate the Tides Foundation as well.  This group is also closely tied to ACORN and SEIU as well.  In fact, when Wade Radke (a co-founder of ACORN) was found to have embezzled 1 Million dollars from the group he was never brought to court.  Instead, the Tides Foundation found it in their heart of hearts to "give" ACORN $1 Million to make the whole issue go away.  That's like someone being robbed and then having the robber's daddy pay the people who were robbed the amount of money or items stolen.   It may make the victims feel better to some extent, but a crime went unpunished and the robber will only feel more empowered to do MORE crime in the future and not less.  Maybe (and this is a BIG maybe) if Wade Radke had been prosecuted 8 years ago, it would have sent a strong message to others in ACORN to "straighten up or go to jail".

What is the Tides Foundation and what is its purpose?  According to their own web-site, they were started in 1976 by "anonymous couple" who wanted to help fund grass roots communities and environmental projects.  Started by Drummond Pike, many believe it serves as a "bank" for various organizations that want to keep their names and connections quiet and just like the ocean "tide", it can wipe clean any footprints in the sand that may traced back to their sources.

What business is it of the Tides Foundation to step in and "fix" a embezzlement scheme?  Who really wanted to keep it quiet?  Did the Tides Foundation also commit a crime by paying to cover another one up?  Would people who gave money to this organization feel that their money was used appropriately?   I think its time we start expanding the investigation, revisit the Radke scandal and too see where the money all leads.  No one is above the law in this country, not even "good intentioned do-good-ers".

On the road again and again and again ....

It seems that Team-O has never gotten off the road of the campaign trail.  By now, their campaign bus must be pushing over 400,000 miles on it and has to be on its 10th set of tires.  Obama took time to be on all the major networks minus the BIGGEST of all Fox News.  Asked about everything from health-care to what he saw of the chances of the Chicago White-Sox winning another pennant (wow! who would have seen that one coming!). Most of the questioners were as strenuous as the ones on the 08 campaign trail with the exception of the George Stephanapoulus question on taxes and what constitutes a tax to Obama.

Last night the President went on David Letterman.  Of course Dave is known for his hard hitting questions and holding his guests feet to the fire while staring at them in the eye to make them sweat buckets.   We also know Dave for his deep understanding of the issues, his masterful handling of the english language and his full understanding of what is on all Americans hearts and minds across this great country of ours.  Yeah Right!

To me the time on Letterman was a complete waste of time.  I would rather have had Dave do "Stupid Pet Tricks" instead of "Stupid President Question and Answers".   Does the President really think this how you reach everyday people?  Do they want their health-care parlade with jokes about "being black before I ran for office" ??   And speaking of running for office, can the President please stop referring back to your campaign.  That is not supposed to be the pinacle of your career and aspirations.

Speaking of the campaign, I believe the White House needs to clean house on members who seem to think that the government is just an extension of their campaign machine.  First we had the "flag.gov" debacle where people in the White House felt that it was a good idea to use the government computers to gather information from the people on other citizens about health-care.  Now during a campaign, all is fair in love and war.  If they wanted to set up a web-site for democrats to send infromation about what the other side was saying about their positions on various issues, that is perfectly fine.  But when you enter the WH, all things change.  Using a government computer paid for "by the people" to gather information "on the people" you have a MAJOR problem.

Next came the President making fun of  "people standing around waving tea bags".  This too is fine during the campaign because if you want to make fun of people in the other persons campaign rallies that is ok.  This is because most of those people are not going to cross over to your campaign anyway.  But when you are the President, those protests may not necessarily be "Republicans" who are not going to listen to you.  Also, those "tea bag wavers" also have friends and family who may be on the fence with you and by you making fun of them you have effectively pushed them over to the other side.   The President is supposed to be the president of ALL THE PEOPLE and not just those people he happens to agree with.

Later we had Van Jones the "Green Jobs Czar" outed for his blatantly racist views on our country (said that "white polluters and white enviromentals were diverting polution into black communities and poisoning black people"), signed a 911-Truther petition,  was a self-avowed communist (said so in his own book), and ran an anti-police-group in the bay area.  Again, a campaign can employ whomever they want to get their message out and whoever they think can carry that message. But once you are in the WH, you need to vet all your staff as people like this only make people question the presidents policies and views (does he agree with Van Jones on "white polluters"?).   Is anyone vetting these people?

Today we have the WH employing the National Endowment for the Arts to create art to push the presidents agenda.  Agiain, if a politician running for office wants to gather some artists together to help his or her campaign that is fine and its called "marketing". Team-O did a VERY effective job of this throughout the campaign (although did take some fire for making his own "presidential seal".   But now that you are in the WH a new set of rules come into play.  The NEA is not your personal marketing group.  They are paid by tax dollars "of the people".  They answer to Congress, not the president.  Such employment smells of "propaganda" as used by other fascist regimes over the past century.

To me, heads need to roll in the WH as bad decisions are being made and are starting to paint this president as ill-prepared for the job.

A legal definition of the word: TAX

I found it laughable that our own president does not know the meaning of the word TAX.  Cornered by his own leftist friend George Stephanapoulus (Thank you George!  You are still considered to be a journalist in my book!) on whether the charge for health-care would be considered as a "tax".  Obama, if you remember, PROMISED the American people that if you make less than 250K, you will not see your taxes go up 1 dime.   Obama felt that Geoge was "stretching" a bit by pulling out a dictionary to make sure they were using the same definition.  Well now, we must first define the word tax.  Apparently Obama must use a different dictionary than the rest of America.  Maybe he uses the "Lawyers Dictionary" which must have a more liberal wording on the wording of tax.
Tax : (verb) -
a word describing money taken from certain parties or individuals for the use of other individuals who shall be determined by the people in political power.   Said money shall only be considered to be a tax if said money is for a specific task or purpose that benefits another minority group and does not go into the general budget of said government and cannot be refunded by any means such as a 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ or ever given back to the person from whom the money was taken (stolen) by a rebate.  Also said money shall not be labeled a tax if the political party leader (head honcho) feels that such a label would be considered back-peddling on past campaign promises.   Also said money shall not be considered a tax if said money has been determined to be for the betterment of society as a whole and may save money over the long haul (10,20, 50 years) as projected by the CBO or other liberal think-tank budget groups that may give a better (lower debt ceiling) number.

Please Mr President, you think we are THAT stupid?  We know when we are being lied to and we know when we are being taxed and when we are not being taxed.  Maybe you need to read the TAXPAYERS definition of the word TAX
Tax : (verb)
A word describing the action by a government to take hard earned money from hard working people for the purposes of:
  1. Wasting money on an infinite number of programs that pander to a variety of special interest groups lobbied heavily by friends of the administration and other political allies\
  2. Giving money to other lazy, slothful people who have no desire to improve their lives and pull their own weight but would rather remain as a burden to the rest of society.
Said money is ALWAYS a tax if said money is taken from ones own business or paycheck out of fear that NOT paying said money to said government will result in death, prison, fines or all of the above.  See also Taxx (as this fits the more common definition of a 4 letter word)
Tax:  (verb) - alternative definition
The process of removing money from MY wallet/paycheck so that I have less to spend and/or save for my childrens education or for my retirement.  Usually accompanied with other 4 letter words as well.  Usage:  "THE F---ING GOVERNMENT  F---ING TAXED ME AGAIN!"
This may be Obama's "read-my-lips" moment for his administration for we are only 8 months into his term and I believe more such "sur-charges" as he would like to have them called that will be called into question again and again.

NOTE:
I think we all now know what the President needs most for Christmas (if he celebrates it).   A DICTIONARY.  We should all mail him the biggest dictionaries available with the page with the definition of TAX tabbed so he can locate it easily for future reference

Stopping ACORN funding NOT ENOUGH!

Well Congress is getting the message now and they are starting to shut off all funding for ACORN now!  That is good news, but in my opinion that is NOT ENOUGH!  To stop there will only allow ACORN to reform as another group (can you say PECAN?)  and then get their funding all over again.  Of course some people will get fired and maybe even go to jail, but it won't even touch the upper management of ACORN and will only implicate the lower level "expendable" foot soldiers.

We need to force Congress to have a complete and independent investigation into ACORN from top to bottom.  We need to hold our politicians feet to the fire until they relent and do what they are required to do as our leaders.  Anything less than that is only a slap on the wrist.  (Honestly, you are going to waste millions of taxpayer dollars on investigating steroid abuse in Major League Baseball but you are going to look the other way on a group that has disenfranchised thousands of voters and has acted as bullies to extort money from groups).

Inspired by "300" men

This past weekend I finally was able to watch the movie "300" ( I was alone in the house and finally had control of the remote).  I had heard about this movie and I love to watch movies based on historical people and events.  While this movie was stretched some for Hollywood appeal, the story is based on a true story and worth studying.

In the movie "300" you have a group of 300 men (these in my opinion are REAL men) who forego what their corrupt government has told them (they were mislead by politicians who were on the take by the Persians)  to go and make a stand on a narrow passageway to stop King Xerxes of Persia from marching on their city of Sparta.  300 against 100,000.   Not good odds by any means but for them the odds were good enough.  Trained to fight as a unit and to protect each other they formed a impenetrable wall against all that the Persians could through at them.   They relished the thought of dying for their city and for each other for to them "honor" was more important than "life".

We need to find inspiration in this movie as we fight against enemies that are well funded (George Soros, SEIU, Stimulus money, ACORN) and well armed (NBC,ABC,CBS,CNBC,MSNBC,CNN, NY Times, etc..).   We need to draw a line in the sand and say "This far you shall come and no further".   We need to stand shoulder to shoulder and with each other no matter what your political background.  Republican, Democrat, Indepedent, Libertarian, it doesn't matter.   All who love this country and stand for the Constitution and its principles that it founded are welcome.   We may disagree on other minor issues such as Abortion, Gay Rights, or the role of the US military in the world.  But we can agree
  1. That our government is using us and that corruption has so infected our government that we cannot trust them to "do the right thing" anymore.  We agree that our leaders answer to lobbyists and speical-interest-groups that stuff 100 dollar bills down their pants on a regular basis rather than to us.
  2. That taking away anyones "freedom speech" is taking away all of our freedoms of speech.  If you limit speech by "diversity rules" or by vague and ill-defined "hate speech laws" you eventually put an end to our freedom to speak our minds and hearts.
  3. That government should not being playing favorites with corporations and big business.  That no business is "too big to fail".
  4. That the rule of law should always prevail (ie the Constitution).  That government to their to enforce contracts and not there to bypass them when they are inconvenient (what they did in the Chrysler bankruptcy was criminal and hurt thousands of retired pension holders who where "secured bond holder")
Washington DC may (and already has) thumbed their noses at us and told us that we are "not significant" and "not in the mainstream" to hopefully destroy our will, but we cannot turn back.  We must not let them discourage us.  We must press on.  We may need to make sacrifices like:
  • Spend less on Christmas gifts (or tell your family members to make contributions in your name) this year in lew of giving money to help the 912 program, a Tea Party or a Politician you think will strive to fight this corruption (especially if they have NEVER held a political office in their life).  I don't recommend giving money to the GOP as I feel they will not spend it wisely and are only part of the problem.
  • Use some of your vacation time to attend a protest or help with a campaign.
  • Boycott WalMart, GE, GM or other companies that are sidnig with Big Government and writing them to tell them you are
  • Giving up some cable channels such as HBO that promotes Bill Maher (we should be requesting our cable stations to supply us with a conservative channel listing that would take out MS-NBC,CNBC,CNN,HBO so we can know that our hard earned money is not going to fund stations we do not agress with
  • Writing to your representatives and going to town hall meetings to express yourselves
  • Talk straight, honestly and nicely with your neighbors about what is going on.  Get them involved!
  • Run for office yourself!   Maybe you can be the first "YouTube-only candidate"

Post-Script
My son loves this movie and will see it at any chance he gets and the same can be said for many of his friends.  They see what being a real man is in this movie and they desire that for themselves as well.  They know that schools have tried to "feminize" them and downplay their male roles in our country and  have taught that sacrifice for country is "stupid thing do".  They know that to fight for honor is never "stupid".

It's 1776 All Over Again!

Well as Yogi Berra once said, "It's De-ja-vu all over again!".    Here we are 233 years later and we are again at war with the powers in high places who have little regard for law or for our concerns.   When they need our votes we are "concerned and involved citizens" but after they are elected and we don't like their proposals we are "ASTROTURF!"

And not much has changed from 1776 either.  King George looked at people from across the ocean as indentured servants who he could tax at will, put in prison at will and terrorize at will.  He (and Parliament) put never ending taxes on the people that they thought were justified in order to pay for their "protection" from other countries.   The tea tax were also used to make non-British tea more expensive and force the colonists to buy only British tea.  People who got out of line were ordered to appear in court in Britain and could find themselves held over their waiting for their trial for months and even years with no resolution while their businesses back home went under.  King George also destroyed printing presses of newspapers that were "hostile to the crown" and he also paid other newspapers who were "loyal".  King George took away peoples rights to their properties and forced them to house (and feed) soldiers sent their for their "protection" but were really "foot soldiers" put there to put down any uprising at a moments notice.

Today, we have an "FCC diversity czar" who is bent on limiting free speech (he sees it as over rated) using "diversity" as his front argument to disguise his true intentions.  We also have an administration that is closely tied to GE which also happens to own 3 major news networks and funding them indirectly for their "loyalty to the crown".  Also, the Obama administration wants to tax "health-care" benefits to pay for the government health-care system.  Of course as time goes on the government can increase the taxes to make their competition look worse and worse and force more and more of us onto the government plan (Sounds like King Georges Tea Tax to me).  Today,  we are paying tax money to groups like ACORN who are none other than "foot soldiers" who are loyal to Obama whom he can summon at a moments notice to put down any and all discenting voices.

But the similarities are not all negative either.  In 1776,  56 men challenged the government and signed the Declaration of Indpendence.   These small colonists took on the BIG machinery of King George and won!   How did the do this?

Importance of Media
They realized the importance of the media and winning the hearts and minds of the colonists.   Even back then 1/3 supported the movement (revolutionists), 1/3 were opposed (loyalists) and 1/3 could go either way (opportunists).  Today we have the same situation I believe.  We have 1/3 who want their government to be limited and founded on the Constitution.  1/3 don't care about the Constitution and want to "transform it" and 1/3 can go either way.   We need to win the hearts and minds of those caught in the middle.   We need to show a reasoned and rational approach to our protests.  We need to show that this has NOTHING to do with political parties (they are meaningless now).  We have seen how the town hall meetings have all but destroyed the "public option" and have shown people that they are not alone in their fears about government health-care.  For that is how the mainstream-media wants us to feel.  By only showing people who are FOR the public option they can make those who are against it feel along and out-numbered.   We need to see that this is NOT the case and that we are actually in the majority.  I find it funny that even Obama is distancing himself from the public-option saying that he made the mistake of letting Congress write the health-care bill and not taking a more active role in it.  Paraphase:  "Don't blame me!  I didn't write the bill!"

Size does not matter
The revolutionists decided that they were going to defeat the British on THEIR OWN ground-rules.  If that meant taking pot-shots from behind trees and rock walls then so be it even if the other side called them "cowards".   We too now see this working in our favor as well.  We have seen the videos of those 2 brave people who have trapped ACORN in their own corruption.  By posing as a prostitute looking for a loan to run a brothel, they used ACORN's own corruption against them.  They may have single handidly brought down one of the largest political organizations in history armed only with a hidden camera.  We need MORE of this.  We need people inside ACORN willing to expose the wickedness that has infested this group and is using black and other minority groups as 21st century slaves.   YouTube video was used to catch the "Green Czar" Van Jones and other radical czars and hang them with their own words.   We can't wait for a "60 Minutes" or a "20/20" to catch these guys (they have become meaningless zombies for the Obama administration anyway).  We have to do it ourselves.   We all need to become journalists and commentators.  This puts the other side at a disadvantage.   If all they have to do is watch Fox News to see what the other side is saying then they can put a head-on assault.  But if ALL of us are reporting and commentating and investigating, there are too many "fronts" to manage at once (no matter how many of us get "flagged" by the administration).

Passion DOES matter
The revolutionists also knew that God was on their side and their cause was just.  This fueled the passion needed to endure the long and difficult war (we forget that the war lasted over 5 years).   That passion would eventually overtake the "paid army of soldiers" sent from England to put down the fires of revolution.  We need to see that OUR passion is REAL and theirs is not.   We protest this government for honor and for truth and to return our country to its founding principles of freedom and the pursuit of happiness, while they do it for $8 an hour.  You can't manufacture that passion.  You can't bottle it and sell it.  It's either there or its not.   We stand with hand-made-signs made with feeling and concern.  They stand with pre-stamped-manufactured signs that all say the same thing because they don't know why they are there.   The other side will try to paint us as "astroturf" and as paid hacks for the GOP but we know who were are.

We need to take notes from the 1776 Revolution and apply them to our problems today as very, very little has changed.   Elitists have taken over our government and view us with disdain and apathy.  They see us as sheep that need to be "nudged" (in reference to Cass Susteins book) to behave in ways they want us to rather than as a free people who can look out for thier own self and collective interests without the need of a nanny-state.

The Trogan Horse has a name and it is....

TRIGGER!

Who here thinks for 1 second that this "trigger" is never going to be pulled?   We all know that when it comes to spending billions of dollars, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid both have "itchy fingers" on the "trigger" and will pull it if one insurance company "gets out of line".  We all know the bar will be set very low that will cause this trigger to go off and once it does, like a nuclear bomb, there is no going back and what's done is done forever.

They have tried CO-OPS to appease us, but we all know that is slang for "government takeover" (see what happened with AmTrak, Fannie-Mae, Freddy-Mac .... boy that sure went well!).   Now they will only do a government option if certain changes in healthcare don't meet their objectives and standards.  Of course we won't be privy to that information until after they pass the bill, for you can better your bottom dollar that there won't be anymore town hall meetings to get feedback from us either.  After all, many of our congressmen today view the town halls as THEIR meetings and not OUR meetings.

Congress!  Stop trying to re-package CRAP!  Crap is crap no matter how you sell it.   The American people don't trust you with their health or their money and this case, you want to control BOTH.  You need to stop listening to marketing pundits who will give you the "magic words" that will open the doors to our bank accounts and start listening to us the American people.

What would Jesus do?

As a Christian I am tired of non-Christians ( and yes, I include our President in this group ) using this tag line as an argument for why I should take out my wallet and give them more money to waste.  Do I know what Jesus would do?  Frankly, I don't think Jesus would give it more than 10 seconds of his time as his purpose here on earth was to take care of a MUCH more pressing issue:  our eternal health.  His perspective on our lives is very different from our puny view for what is 80 or 90 years when compared to eternity?

One good example of Jesus lack of concern about THIS life is shown in Luke 12:13-15

"13 Someone in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." 14 Jesus replied, "Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?" 15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

The man had no legal right to the inheritance for it was the father's decision on how his possessions would  be handled after his death. Often it was decided to leave all of it to the oldest son so that it would not be divided down over years and years until nothing was left.  The man in the crowd obviously sees this as an injustice and demands Jesus "change the system".   But what does Jesus point out instead?  He points out the problem of greed (ie coveting) and that your abundance of possessions (I guess we would add in health care into this).   Jesus always was pointing people to what lay beyond this life and to not get caught up into this one too much.

But didn't Jesus care you the health of his followers?  After all, he did HEAL a lot of people.   Yes that is true, but again his purpose was to not just take care of a persons current medical needs, but instead was to show who he REALLY was and that he was not just another rabbi but was the actual Son of God.

But don't you as a Christian have a moral imperative to take care of others?   Yes I do.  But this is as ME a person.  It is not my responsibility to take YOUR money however (no matter how "moral" the need is) and use it for MY needs.   I, as a person, can only respond to another persons needs.  And this is really what is missing in this whole argument.  You see, Jesus wanted us a people to help meet each others needs on a one on one basis and not as some nameless-faceless-you-are-a-government-number-system.  Jesus set us an example, as he met with each and every person to hear their needs and to fill them with his love and power.   That is the main point of his ministry.  He never (although he could have) waved his hand and healed everyone in the world at once.

Also, people often miss the reason why Jesus engaged with people on their physical needs.  When all is well , we don't see a need for God in our lives.  But when our bodies betray us and we see how truly weak and fragile we are, we run crying to God to help us.  God then can use this time to reach us and show us that MORE than our bodies need healing and that our very souls need forgiveness that only HE can provide.  Jesus never meant for HIS mission to be used as a political ping-pong-ball to be slapped from one end of the political table-top to the other (and I mean that by BOTH the LEFT AND THE RIGHT).

Finally, if the left is going to push God out of our schools, courts and laws. Then they have no business peddling God as a reason to pass on of the biggest power grabs in our nations history.   President Bush would have been lampooned on every late-night talk-show and ever cable news channel (except Fox) for using this angle, yet since it's Obama and it's desperation time we let him off the hook.   Frankly this makes me want to puke my guts out.

I think that Obama should be asking us "What would George Soros do" rather than  "What Jesus would do", as I believe he spends more time talking to him rather than to Jesus.

1 down 34 ... oops 35 to go

Just when 1 czar goes down in flames, Obama has already proposed yet another czar by nominating Ron Bloom to be the Manufacturing Czar.  These czars are populating the White House faster than rats (they have many other similarities as well).   What upsets me the most about this latest czar is that he has nothing to do with actual manufacturing of products but instead has worked as a union negotiator and so has more knowledge on how to DESTROY manufacturing in this country and not how to improve it.

Congress needs to bring this un-constitutional program under control and vet all of these czars because apparently the White House is not doing its job.  Both the democrats and republicans need to come together and stop this madness for it affects both parties equally for when a republican gets back into the White House they will follow the shoes of their former leaders and use this loop hole even more to work around congress.   We need to return balance to the 3 branches of government because right now the executive branch is acting more like the ONLY branch of government.

The next czar we should be concentrating on is none other than Mark Lloyd, the FCC diversity czar.  This man is the next most scary individual in the Obama administration.  As the FCC diversity czar he wants to fine all radio stations 100% of the operating budget that don't meet his definition of "local diversity" and give that money to NPR.  He too has ties to Marxism and is on record praising none other than Hugo Chavez for his ability to take over the media in his country.  Lloyd has also proposed controlling the Internet as well and sees nothing wrong with limiting peoples 1st amendment rights.

Wake up America!  They are taking a flame-thrower to our Constitution in the name of "diversity of thought".

George Soros is using us

I used to wonder why a super-rich person like George Soros would want to support liberal candidates and causes when most likely those candidates would cause taxes to be increased and therefore take more money from people like Soros.  Maybe I was naive and never realized that the super-rich never have to concern themselves with paying taxes as they can easily shelter their money abroad in Swiss-banks and other locations.

But then I later read an article on how Soros used his influence to affect other countries economies as well and is become a multi-nationally-hated-person as well.  So what's in it for him?  I used to think Soros was a capitalist but now I see his is NOT a capatalist, but instead is an OPPORTUNIST.  Capitalists believe in owning companies, growing capital ( land, resources, buildings, equipment, patents etc..).  But people like Soros are merely opportunists and look to make money when and wherever possible.

To help illustrate my point on how Soros makes his money, imagine you go to a 3 horse race where the odds on the horses are:

             A) 2 to 1
             B) 3 to 1
             C) 20 to 1

Clearly horse A or B is favored to win and most people are going to put their money on them.  Soros however comes in and puts his money on C.  Now that looks crazy!  That horse has hardly ANY chance to win.  Why would he do that?  That is because unlike you and me who place our bets and then go sit in the stands to await the race results, Soros is so rich he can payoff the barn manager to let him into the barn.  He then goes in and takes a 2-by-4 and wacks horses A and B right in the legs and maybe even in the balls. He then goes out and watches his horse go on to win the race.  We play by the rules .... Soros does NOT.

Now how does he do this in the real world?  Soros places legal "bets" on Wall-Street called "hedge funds".  In Great Britain he bet that the british pound would go down in value. He then used his billions to support the Labor Party (our democratic party) candidates and got them elected.  Once elected he made them ratchet up their government spending to unbelievable amounts.  This of course caused GB to print more money to cover their spending and WHALA!  The British pound when down in value and Soros ending up making BILLIONS of dollars.  He also did the same to the Japanese dollar and now he wants to do the same here in the U.S.

We need to wake up and see that it's NOT Obama who is in control here, but instead Soros who is pulling the strings behind the scenes waiting to collect his billions when our dollar tanks from all of our spending.  We need to reform Wall Street and prevent this kind of "betting" from being done that in the end hurts us the American people and making people like Soros even more rich.
