Well I never thought I would ever say those words, but there you have it in black and white: "Thank you Mr. President". Of course if you have read any of my other blogs, you know I have very little good to say about the so-called "Commander-in-Chief" who is more like the king in the story "The King's new clothes" than anything else. So what do I have to "thank" him for? Let's be honest. Who in this country has given 5 seconds of thought after Junior high-school US History about the "Progressive Movement"? We all thought they were dead and gone by now. But here we are in 2010 and they are still causing trouble (just under different names). Like a slow growing cancer these idealogues infected the Democratic Party after their failures at the turn of the 20th century became revealed. They went underground and changed their language to conceal their true intents. "Priviledges" became "Rights" and "Rights" became "Priviledges". Conrol became good and freedom became bad.
And then came Obama....
We now see and feel the cancer spreading through our country in our federal and state legislatures. We are awake and we are looking for antidotes to rid ourselves of it. And we are not just going to replace one cancer-ridden organ with another. No! We are asking the right questions now. Not just "Do you believe in the Constitution?" (which to many progressives is like sayign "Do you believe in Santa Claus") , but instead "Do you believe that the Constitutions primary goal is to LIMIT the Federal Governement and give states and citizens complete and unfettered autonomy? " We now understand words like "Fundamentally transform our country". We have learned to develop a thick skin (some would say armor) to deflect the vicious attacks on us as a people. We know we are not stupid as Bill Maher would say. We are standing up for what we believe in and so are many state governments. They are mad as hell as we are and they are not going to take it anymore either. States like Utah are fighting back and saying "hands off our land!" by suiing the Feds who stole nearly 60% of Utahs land for their own use. Where is that in the Constitution that the Federal Government can come in and declare whatever land it wants "Federal Land"? I remember learning about how wonderful it was when Teddy Rosevelt passed the "National Parks Bill" but never once thought about the constitutionality of such a bill. Where do they get the right to TAKE land from states that could use it for their own purpose? Answer: no where.
But now the curtain has been pulled back and we see the "wizard" pulling his levers and knobs in order to control us and we are not impressed. All of this is because President Obama. Thank you Mr. President. Thank you!
